An MA student in Special Education. I am writing a thesis on the interpersonal emotional regulation between parents and children on the autistic spectrum. In my free time I enjoy painting.
Zohar Klein
Post Doc
I am currently working as a postdoctoral fellow in the lab. My doctoral research examined the interaction between biological, cognitive, behavioral, and environmental factors in the development and maintenance of anxiety disorders. In my current research, I am specifically focused on examining cognitive biases and learning processes associated with social anxiety. Outside of work, I enjoy playing basketball and hiking.
In my research, I compare intrapersonal and interpersonal emotional regulation and the role of empathy in parents and children who were exposed to traumatic events in their lives. We ultimate aim is to develop an intervention that will improve the wellbeing of children with repeated traumatic exposure. In my free time I enjoy reading, traveling, meeting friends, and above all- surf.

Throughout my18-year career as an officer in the IDF (Israel Defense Force), I have assumed multiple positions in the Casualty Department. Being repeatedly exposed to traumatic events as a CNO (Casualty Notification Officer) who delivers devastating news to the bereaved families of soldiers, the focus of my PhD research is to explore the possible role of self-representation repertoire and cognitive flexibility in buffering the deleterious consequences of repeated traumatic exposure in this unique population of CNO's. In my free time I enjoy playing drums.
